This summer, we’re teaming up with HXP to host a 10-week hands-on Youth Build Program, a one-of-a-kind experience where a group of motivated teenagers will come together to learn practical skills, work as a team, and see firsthand how safe, affordable housing changes lives.
What is HXP?
HXP is an established program dedicated to giving young people meaningful, hands-on experiences that build confidence, character, and real-world skills. Through service opportunities, HXP empowers students to step outside their comfort zones, work as a team, and make a tangible impact in the communities they serve.
This summer, that mission comes to life right here to the Crystal Coast.
Over the course of 10 weeks, HXP will bring a new group of teens each week to participate in our Youth Build Construction Program. While the faces may change week to week, the goal stays the same: give every student the chance to learn valuable construction skills and walk away knowing they built something that matters.
Each group will spend their week:
- Learning hands-on construction techniques
- Working alongside experienced supervisors and volunteers
- Building confidence through teamwork and new challenges

What A Week Looks Like

Want To Help?
We’re looking for 2 volunteers per day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, starting June 1st through the end of summer, to help support our student build days.
We are looking for people with some construction experience and a willingness to jump in, encourage students, and be part of something meaningful.
Not able to volunteer? You can still make a big impact. Financial gifts help provide tools, materials, and a great experience for every student.
Why This Matters
Sometimes all it takes is one opportunity to change how a young person sees themselves. This program gives students the chance to try something new and realize they’re capable of more than they thought. They’ll learn practical skills, solve problems as a team, and gain confidence with every project they complete.
Along the way, their work will directly benefit our community—building access ramps for neighbors, picnic tables and sheds that every Habitat homeowner receives. These aren’t just practice projects; they’re meaningful, lasting contributions that students can be proud of long after the week is over.
